Project:   The Mexican Treasury: Writings by Dr. Francisco Hernández  and  Searching for the Secrets of Nature: The Life and Works of Dr. Francisco Hernández This two-volume set required a special design approach — there were abundant elements unique to each book, yet the set needed to be visually unified. One volume contains translated original writings, including letters, poetry with line designations, excerpts, and editorial footnotes, glossary, and the like. The other volume contains scholarly commentary with all the usual apparatus of lists, extracts, and so on.      I did the cover and interior design and typography for both volumes. Client:   Princeton Editorial Associates, Inc., which produced the book for the Stanford University Press.
